Race Report: 15 July. 8 smiling faces, including race committee. 4 sailing craft rigged, but iffy-air, followed by distant lightning cut the night short. Radar correctly indicated the dangerous weather had passed, but there were new indications that distant lightning activity might be blowing in, so we cut it short at one race. Did not reach a competition quorum of sailing craft on the course as the slower craft wisely hung back, eye on the clouds.
With the Whaler going out, as it does for these Monday events, we can tow boats in if the wind dies or lighting approaches. As such, even iffy weather is worth coming out to try a run around the buoys.
See you next week, sailing round the buoys!
