Nominations for goofy Monday night racing moments!

Post your nomination for the "Monday Night" skipper who most spectacularly or uniquely challenged the forces of wind and waves and lost!  sailing-related antics on shore may apply, as well.  All goofy or spectacular failures are considered.  Nominated names, alone, are OK, but anecdotes are encouraged!

Nominations for most questionably sea-worthy "Monday Night boat" owner?

Post your nominations taken here for "most questionably sea-worthy" Monday Night boat owner!  Just a nominee name is fine, anecdotes are optional, but welcome!

16 SEP: Still Sailing!

I'll be at the club tomorrow, Monday, 16SEP.  Won't set buoys, but if you want to sail with others around to chat, or save your bacon when something breaks, come join us.   Traffics worse this time of year, and many busy with children's school events, etc, but we might still have some sailing to squeeze in before it's too cold!

Monday Night is Still a "go" for 9 SEP, if you are game for it!!!

I'll be at the club tomorrow, Monday, 9 SEP, for the typical race time.   I realize many will be recuperating from the whitecap regatta, or busy with children's school events, etc, but we might still have some sailing to squeeze in before it's too cold!

Race Report: 15 July. 8 smiling faces, including race committee. 4 sailing craft rigged, but iffy-air, followed by distant lightning cut the night short. Radar correctly indicated the dangerous weather had passed, but there were new indications that distant lightning activity might be blowing in, so we cut it short at one race. Did not reach a competition quorum of sailing craft on the course as the slower craft wisely hung back, eye on the clouds.

With the Whaler going out, as it does for these Monday events, we can tow boats in if the wind dies or lighting approaches. As such, even iffy weather is worth coming out to try a run around the buoys.

See you next week, sailing round the buoys!

June 24th, 2013 Event Report: Two races completed just in time to get into shore and hear the rain hitting the clubhouse roof. Places and times were recorded and will be applied to a compiled score program we are developing. More will follow on how performance will be tracked and recognized.

Thanks to all who came out to make the evening a success!
